We are honoured to invite you to the first biennial congress of the European Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (EAVLD), at which the latest developments and standards in veterinary diagnostics will be disseminated. This first EAVLD congress will be hosted by the Central Veterinary Institute of Wageningen UR in Lelystad, from 15-17 September 2010.
EAVLD
On the 18th of June 2009, the foundation of the European Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (EAVLD) was officially announced at the WAVLD-meeting in Madrid. The EAVLD is modelled on the American and World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD and WAVLD respectively). The EAVLD is a non profit, independent association that aims to improve veterinary and public health by providing a platform for communication among veterinary laboratory diagnosticians and to promote the highest standards in European veterinary laboratories. The desire is to create an inclusive forum for veterinary laboratory scientists working in all disciplines across the full range of animal species. EAVLD congress
Veterinary diagnostics is a quickly developing field, where modern techniques, fast, sensitive and suitable for high throughput, meet old techniques, often robust and reliable, and where validation and accreditation are becoming key-issues to generate and communicate reliable test results.
We will offer you a very interesting scientific program, with keynote speakers and selected oral presentations on all these subjects. Classical diagnostic tools will definitely not be forgotten, but expect also high quality presentations on molecular diagnostics and multiplex diagnostics. The congress will end with a session on validation and accreditation, magic words for many diagnosticians, but also clients of diagnostic labs.

Submit your own work!
We do not only invite you to come to Lelystad and attend the congress to listen to others presenting there scientific work. We also invite you to submit your own work for presentation on the congress. Presentation of your work will be possible through oral presentations or posters. Besides the scientific content, a congress like this offers a unique opportunity to meet and discuss with fellow diagnosticians. Finally, sponsors and exhibitors will show you the latest developments on their services, tests and technological platforms, the latter of which are becoming more an more essential in modern diagnostics.
